FABRIC IN USE

From fabric to garment.

DRAPE · CUT · FIT

See how your fabric takes shape. Review its drape, movement and fit. Make choices with a sample in hand, refine the details through sampling, and agree fabric and finish for production.

Choose a starting point. Develop your garment.

Denim & trouser development

Start with a straight, wide or curved silhouette. Discuss rise, length, ease, fabric and wash direction from a design or sample, and review the details through pattern and sample development.

Start with your own design

Develop tops, skirts, dresses, outerwear or coordinated looks from your drawings, references or samples. Begin with the intended wearer and use, then discuss materials, construction and sampling.

HOW WE WORK

Agree what each stage needs to confirm.

01

Understand your design intent

You bring: Product idea, use, references and constraints.

We work towards: Material options, process directions and questions to validate.

02

Develop and confirm the samples

You bring: Agreed direction, intended effect and budget range.

We work towards: Develop samples to the agreed scope, record revisions and define the approved specification.

03

Coordinate production

You bring: Approved sample, specifications, quantity and delivery requirements.

We work towards: Match manufacturing, communicate quality requirements and coordinate production and delivery to the agreed scope.

DESIGN · BODY · MATERIAL

Develop the fit for the people you want to serve.

Body proportions, sizing conventions and fit preferences vary across target markets. Chinese, European, US, Japanese and Korean dress-form and sizing references are available. We work with your brand size chart and target wearer to develop the pattern, ease and grading.

Define the target wearer

Market, garment category, size range and preferred fit guide the reference data.

Let body and cloth inform the pattern

Proportion, stretch, drape and movement needs guide the ease in the pattern.

Fit the sample, then establish specifications

Review wear, movement and the complete outfit, then approve adjustments and establish sizing and grading rules.

CUSTOM BUTTONS & TRIMS

Let the garment guide the button.

Placement, fabric thickness, fastening and brand character guide form, size, weight and finish. Compare material and sample directions, then review physical samples, custom details and tooling.

MATERIAL INTO EVERYDAY LIFE

A little landscape. Made to travel with you.

Explore how fabric can take a smaller, everyday form through charm and bag design studies. Jacquard denim and blended plaid are examples; material selection and development follow the intended use.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Clarity before commitment.

Can we start without a full specification?

Yes. Start with the product, desired hand and available references, then define which material and process questions need validation.

How are sample costs, timing and minimums agreed?

They depend on the substrate, process, colourways and quantity. Agree the scope before confirming a quotation and schedule.

How are quality requirements defined?

Start with intended use and delivery market. Agree the approved sample, specifications and relevant testing or review requirements, and record the decisions in project documents.

Can the project extend to apparel or footwear?

Garment, upper and product construction development can be discussed per project. Assess material and process suitability through samples before agreeing the next scope.

FROM LINE TO SILHOUETTE

From line to silhouette.

Understand the design, read the cloth and fit the complete outfit. Detailed cutting studies and sample comparisons can be reviewed face to face around your project.

Jacquard and wash, developed from your design.

Develop fabric through motif, weave and wash trials, then take denim or other trousers forward around your silhouette, sizing and use.

Define the fabric direction.

Develop colour, pattern, fibre, structure, hand and finishing for the intended use, then confirm the fabric and its production specification.

A CLEAR FIRST STEP

Start with a clearly scoped development task.

Tell us the product, market, quantity and timing you have in mind. Together we define the materials and development scope, then discuss sampling, tooling or making costs and the plan. Start with a fabric, one garment sample or a set of trims.

Approval basis: fabric or garment samples, selected trims, size and appearance specifications, and agreed review and delivery items.
